Addison's Walk Center Core Values

01

Eternal Perspective

People matter to God, therefore they matter to us. We are convinced of this fact because the trail of redemptive history is stained with the blood of Jesus Christ. We understand God spared no expense in reconciling his creation to himself. We understand that college students are important to God. We want them to have peace with God and to seek first his kingdom (John 3:16, Ephesians 3, Matthew 6).

02

Intellectual Integrity

The apostle Peter encourages his readers to always be prepared to give an answer for the hope they posses (I Peter 3:15). We want to demonstrate that Christianity is intellectually viable and there are good reasons to believe in Jesus Christ. We will demonstrate that all truth is God’s truth and that it must be ardently followed. We endeavor to produce intellectually compelling materials that we can use both internally and for the cause of the kingdom at large.

Courageous Exploration

Religious belief, as a whole, has been labeled as an “opiate for the masses”. There are many who simply see religions in general, and Christianity in particular, as a personal code that unthinking people adopt as a crutch. We wish to welcome the hard questions. We do not think that life needs to be an array of unanswered parodoxes. Instead we will carefully investigate and thoroughly think through life’s toughest questions in order to find answers. We are convinced that God is unafraid of our doubts and his Spirit welcomes rigorous conversation (I Corinthians 15).

05

Respectful Engagement

We understand the people will disagree on what is truth. We fully believe that there can only be one truth and we will work hard at convincing those God gives us contact with to help them understand. We will not, however, use our platform as a bully pulpit. We will do everything with meekness and respect (I John 1).

Personal Growth

We are committed to helping our participants and staff master their disciplines. We wish to demonstrate that Christianity does not stand alone or apart from other areas of study. Rather, we will passionately pursue the idea that Christianity can and must be integrated in all areas of life. We will encourage and demonstrate personal holiness in order to bring glory to God (Philippians 4:8).

Community Service

We wish to be a resource to the community. We do not endeavor to be an enclave unto ourselves. We will seek ways to serve the community with real hands-on projects. We will seek ways to serve the church, orphans, the weak, and broken. In this we are simply following the example of Jesus Christ (Matthew 16).
